In case you are looking for some game history to read, this is a huge tome of games which was meant to use pieces from existing game pieces and dice from other game board games along with these black and white rules sets.
NOTE: This PDF does include the rulebook of most all of the games but not the actual cards and other things needed to play the game. UPDATED: some of the games are found here. (link here)
I really loved James Ernest's games from this era in the late Ninety's.
My favorites are
- Kill Doctor Lucky which is kind of a take off on Clue and the real-world game of Killer.- https://cheapass.com/free-games/originals/kill-doctor-lucky
- Button Men where everyone "likes to beat people up"- https://cheapass.com/free-games/button-men/
When I worked at Berkeley Systems (Flying Toaster guys) in the late 90's we made some PC versions of CheapAss titles (never published). I worked briefly on Kill Doctor Lucky. Best part--we got to play them a lot :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool! The CheapAss games were surprisingly good. Price wasn't any indicator of quality. Reminded me the old days of "Microgaming".
ReplyDeleteI really loved this quote in the book.
“Quantity is a kind of quality.”
