Experimental Gameplay Project - a game every 7 days

Experimental Gameplay Project is an university site showcasing new games as they become available, usually on a weekly basis from a set of students.

The rules are:
  • each game must be made in less than 7 days
  • each game must be made by one person, including all art, sound, and programming
  • each game must be based around a certain "toy" ie. "gravity", "vegetation", "swarm", etc.
Related to this is this site about how they developed their games so quick!

  1. As they say over 'there', jawohl. I particularly like the equation More Time != More Quality.

I have a friend who did the same thing with music (sorry, can't find the link), writing a bunch of songs on a Saturday morning, then recording them on 4 track and mixing them in the afternoon. The results were pretty miraculous.
