"Sleep is Death" is very interesting two player game. It is essentially one player and one DM (dungeon master) situation with a deceptively simple 8-bit art look.
One player does things and the other player (or really DM) reacts and feeds back the effects in the world. It could be as simple as a person responding to a dialog or the whole environment changing (i.e. the world blows up).
It is currently (as of 2010-04-17) $14 for the preview version for a two player version.
