I do have to agree that there wasn't much stealthy about James Bond. As Dr No pointed out, James Bond was pretty much a "policeman" - though not so "stupid", IMHO.
Maybe he was a distraction for the real spy work going on in the background.
I still haven't watched "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" yet... (remake in 2012?) And Rubicon looks promising if not a slow...
